What we do

When your child has a cold, fever, or cough, we're here, ready to treat them. And the sooner you bring them in for an appointment, the sooner they get back to playing or school. While you're here, we'll take the time to sit with the whole family and discuss your worries, instruct you in how to give medicine or care for a wound. We'll even help you create a healthy eating and exercise plan to help prevent the illnesses that come from obesity, like diabetes. And we'll do it all in a language you understand. Many of our doctors and staff are fluent in more than one language, and we have interpreters available at no charge to make sure that you are comfortable and understand clearly your child's treatment plan.

What we offer:

Immunizations:
Our plan of care is to immunize every child by following the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines.

School Physicals:
We provide school and sports physicals. Please call for an appointment.

Meet our doctors

We're more than the Neighborhood Clinic, we're here to be your family pediatrician. Our doctors are very special people who are dedicated to helping your children get well and stay well. From tiny little newborns all the way to the teen years, we help families get through illness, prevent future illness through healthy nutrition and exercise, and even care for behavior problems before they get out of control.

Cook Children's Checkup resources for you

Checkup was designed with parents in mind, offering quick content that you can use in your daily lives. Below you will find helpful, educational information for parents, sourced by experts at Cook Children's.

Constipation
Constipation is a very common problem among kids, and it usually occurs because a child's diet doesn't include enough fluids and fiber. In most cases, simple changes can help kids go.

Common Cold
With kids getting up to eight colds a year, this contagious viral infection is the most common infectious disease in the United States and the top reason kids visit the doctor and miss school.

Fevers
Although it can be frightening when a child's temperature rises, fever itself causes no harm and can actually be a good thing - it's often the body's way of fighting infections.

Feeding and Spitting up
Find out what the experts have to say.

Sleep
How do you get kids to bed through the cries, screams, avoidance tactics, and pleas? What if you're awakened in the middle of the night? And how much sleep do kids need?

Diet
With all the focus on dieting, how do you figure out what's healthy and what isn't?

Asthma
Learn more about your child's asthma and how to manage it.

Home Health Services

Sometimes kids need long-term care, or will heal better in a familiar setting. We provide quality, patient-centered care in the comfort of home. Led by a clinical team with vast experience in pediatrics, our visiting nurses have a minimum of five years of pediatric experience and our skilled visiting nurses are PALS certified.

To make a referral to the Fort Worth or Dallas locations, call 800-747-8242. A Cook Children's Home Health representative will assist you.
