Urgent care and
emergency services
If your child is unconscious, not responding, a bone is sticking out, or the situation seems critical. Dial 9-1-1 immediately for an ambulance. When your child's condition is life threatening or might cause permanent harm, it is safer for your child to be transported via ambulance.
IMPORTANT!
Cook Children's is treating many patients who are sick with illnesses that can spread to others. Because of this, please limit the number of people around your sick child. If possible, have only one adult or parent wait with the child who needs to see a doctor. Other family members, especially kids, should stay at home so they can stay healthy.
Cook Children's emergency services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Click here to learn more about how to be prepared for medical emergencies.
