Patient representatives
Patient Representatives act as liaisons between the families and staff of Cook Children's Medical Center.
Patient Representatives listen to a family's concerns and represent the patient’s perspective when addressing complaints and needs. They work with medical center personnel to achieve satisfactory resolutions and identify areas for process improvement. Patient Representatives strive to ensure your complaint is addressed in a timely manner with the appropriate management team.
Situations handled by a Patient Representative include:
- Complaints regarding standard of care.
- Concerns about medical center personnel.
- Operational concerns, such as admission or discharge procedures and scheduling problems.
- Difficulty navigating through the health care system.
Patient Representatives also help families by:
- Assisting with services provided by the medical center.
- Organizing patient care conferences.
- Coordinating visitation schedules.
- Facilitating access to care.
- Executing advance directives and medical power of attorney.
- Forwarding compliments to designated management.
