Camp Discovery

What do you call a camp where kids with ADHD can go discover fun and adventure — and make new and lasting friendships? Why, Camp Discovery, of course. It's a place where campers can grow, and a place that's been so successful, like our kids, it just keeps getting bigger.

Camp Discovery was developed in 1997 out of a response from concerned parents who wanted their kids to have a camp experience that was positive. One where they fit in and were accepted by the other kids. Originally housed at the Cook Children’s campus, the camp has found a new home at the YMCA Camp Amon Carter in Fort Worth.

Camp Discovery objectives

Our focus is to provide a safe environment where children with ADD/ADHD can interact with peers, promote social skills, enhance positive self esteem, learn new coping skills and above all HAVE FUN! At Camp Discovery, kids will have:
