SPORTS program
The Cook Children's Sports Performance Orthopedic Rehab Team Specialists (SPORTS) program offers convenient, coordinated and comprehensive care to children and teenagers with an orthopedic or sports-related injury.
Our physicians, therapists, nurses and technologists work exclusively with children and teens. They understand the unique needs of a growing athlete's bones, muscles, body and mind.
SPORTS services
SPORTS works with many specialties within Cook Children's to provide a team approach to care. We work with: Cardiology, Pulmonology, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, Nutrition, Neurosciences and Behavioral Health.
Our specialty care team
Care and treatment
Cook Children's orthopedic surgeons are trained to treat a wide range of pediatric athletes, including beginners, special needs and those on select teams. Patient services range from assessments and examinations, such as X-rays, regular monitoring and bracing, to surgery, if necessary. Patients also have access to a Cook Children's pediatric orthotist. Our SPORTS team helps the patient focus on proper rehabilitation and future injury prevention.
