Diagnostic testing

Our team provides pediatric gastrointestinal motility diagnostic testing for pediatric patients. Digestive motility happens when the intestines cannot move normally which can cause severe constipation, diarrhea, difficulty swallowing and tube feeding intolerance.

Cook Children's Gastroenterology also offers therapeutic and diagnostic endoscopy, which is a flexible tube with a video camera used to look inside the gastrointestinal tract. Your doctor may also suggest pyloric balloon dilation for your child.

Studies

Esophageal and anorectal studies are offered in a non-sedated, procedural setting. Antroduodenal and colonic studies are offered with catheter placement under anesthesia with an inpatient status.

  • Antroduodenal manometry
  • Colonic manometry
