With the goal of providing the right care by the right person in the right setting, Cook Children's Home Health offers orthotic and prosthetic services. Whether outpatient at our office or in our numerous clinic settings, we strive to give our pediatric patients the best orthotic and prosthetic care.
When your child requires orthotics or prosthetics, our team is focused not only on making sure the fit is comfortable, but also the visit. Custom fabrications and modifications are done on site, in our own fabrication lab, to increase quality and decrease wait time.
Services are provided by specially licensed and/or certified orthotists and prosthetists. Our veteran staff members have more than 13 years of experience each and have extensive knowledge of pediatrics.
Deborah Graham, LCPO
Director, Orthotics and Prosthetics, Graham has more than 16 years of orthotic and prosthetic experience, and has spent most of her career treating patients at Cook Children's. Graham specializes in lower extremity orthotics and has expertise in numerous areas pertaining to the orthotic and prosthetic field. For the last three years, she has been a member of the Cook Children's neurology spasticity interdisciplinary team which evaluates patients with cerebral palsy and other complex disorders that limit movement.
Debra Auten, LCPO
Auten has more than 15 years of orthotic and prosthetic experience, including supervisory roles and pediatrics. She was most recently at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Dallas, where she served as a staff orthotist/prosthetist for several years. Auten specializes in scoliosis, as well as lower extremity orthotics and prosthetics.
John French, LCO
French has more than 24 years of orthotic and prosthetic experience, including management, pediatrics, research and education. He was most recently at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, where he taught and practiced orthotics. French has specialized in trauma orthotics at Parkland in Dallas and Children's Medical Center, Dallas. He also worked as an orthotist at Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul, Minn., for several years. French has vast experience in lower and upper extremities and brings a wealth of knowledge to the team.
Jill Stoessel, Board Eligible Orthotist
Stoessel completed her orthotics residency at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, Oklahoma City, Okla., where she developed her skills in pediatric assessment, casting and complete orthotic fabrication. While Stoessel has knowledge of the full scope of orthotics services, a good portion of her experience has been with pediatric patients whose needs include cranial helmets, scoliosis treatment and lower extremity orthoses. She has also spent time training under Deborah Graham, our program director, learning more advanced aspects of pediatric care orthoses.
