I joined the Cook Children's Hospitalist Group in January 2017. I am a proud Texas Tech Red Raider and am thrilled to be back in Texas with my family. I was raised in Amarillo, Texas but spent my high school and college years in Atlanta, Georgia where I received my undergraduate degree from Kennesaw State University before returning to Texas for medical school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
Becoming a physician was a lifelong dream that started when I was 7 years old. I loved how amazing the human body was and wanted to learn as much about it as I could. I also loved children and prior to medical school spent time as a preschool teacher, camp counselor, and a nanny so pediatrics was the perfect fit for me.
Following medical school, I went to Phoenix, Arizona where I completed my pediatric residency at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Maricopa Medical Center Combined Pediatric Residency Program. During residency, I was active with patient advocacy and served on the residency leadership counsel. I love the relationships formed with patients and their families; and being able to help each family as they navigate hospitalization and acute illness is what inspired me to become a pediatric hospitalist.
When not working, I love sports (Wreck Em’ Tech!)- I enjoy playing and coaching volleyball and watching just about any sport especially football and baseball. I frequently can be found supporting local arts and attending musical theatre productions. I have two lovable Bichons who I enjoy taking for walks and checking out local dog parks with.
