She was born in western New York, raised in Connecticut and attended the University of Connecticut for her bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cell Biology and her doctorate in Medicine. After matching at one of the top residency training programs in the nation, she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where she completed a five-year combined residency in Pediatrics and Child Neurology.<br><br> She then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she practiced Child Neurology for nearly five years at Children's Wisconsin. While she adored her practice in Milwaukee, she was drawn to Fort Worth and Cook Children's. Professionally, she was excited for the opportunity to join a group of dynamic and innovative leaders in the field of pediatric movement disorders and pediatric neurology. Personally, her father-in-law was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. To her and her husband, this life-changing diagnosis underscored just how precious and fleeting all our time is on Earth is. The family priority became to move to Fort Worth so their two young kids could grow up near family.
