Taylor Dodgen</h2></div> <p class="my-4">Dr. Dodgen is a Texas native, born and raised around the Dallas area. After completing his undergraduate studies at Baylor University ("Sic 'em"), he attended UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. It was during this time that he became interested in the field of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery, but this spark didn't come in the wards or operating rooms of a US hospital.<br /><br /> "I was able to visit several hospitals in East Africa during my training, and these experiences truly cemented my interest in children's orthopaedics. There is something unique and powerful about correcting a deformity for a child. The trajectory of their whole life can be impacted, including their functional, social and emotional well-being."<br /><br /> Dr. Dodgen then completed Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at John Peter Smith Health Network in Fort Worth, TX. During residency, Dr. Dodgen stayed connected to the international health community, spending more time in Ethiopia. He then traveled to the northeast for a fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedics at Harvard-affiliated Boston Children's Hospital. During this period, he trained in the full breadth of children's orthopaedics, including spinal and limb deformity, clubfeet, trauma and cerebral palsy.
