Meet Dr. Audrey Rogers

Dr. Rogers father was a physician, as well as her father-in-law, but what attracted her to pediatrics was that childhood illnesses are often not their fault. In pediatrics you get to care for patients who did not make choices that led to being sick.

She cites ADD and ADHD as two conditions with which she has a wealth of experience and knowledge to share.

"Giving direction has to come from someone who has experience and authority," she says. And it's easier when that person is a physician versus a family member. And you have to be a good listener who is willing to ask a lot of probing questions."

Dr. Rogers is passionate about her patients, their families and most things in life. She remembers early in high school one of her best friend's fathers said to her, "You'd make a really good doctor."

Those who know her, or are patients, often remark what a wonderfully upbeat and cheerful presence she is in their lives.

Dr. Audrey Rogers was born in Odessa, Texas and attended school at Highland Park High School in Dallas. Texas. She received her undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., her medical degree at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, and completed her pediatrics training at Children's Hospital of Oklahoma. Her special interests are behavioral pediatrics and adolescent medicine. She became board certified in 1989.Dr. Rogers has been active in the Fort Worth community, serving as a board member for the Child Study Center and Hill School. She is a past president of the Fort Worth Pediatric Society and has also served on the medical board of Cook Children's Medical Center, Cook Children's Physician Network and Harris Methodist Hospital.??
