Meet Dr. Caroline Spalla
Born and raised in Fort Worth, Caroline Spalla, M.D., always looked forward to her well child checks with her own Cook Children's pediatrician. Her pediatrician left such a positive impact in her life that she dreamed of one day building the same relationships with her own patients. She volunteered countless hours with Cook Children's as a junior volunteer during high school as well as a summer counselor at a Cook Children's camp during college. These experiences intensified her desire to go to medical school. It was only fitting that Dr. Spalla would return home to serve the children of Fort Worth as a board-certified pediatrician.
She graduated as Salutatorian from Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth. From there she attended the University of Texas at Austin where she was a human biology major. She then moved to Lubbock, Texas for medical school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. After graduating medical school Dr. Spalla returned to Austin for her pediatric residency at the University of Texas at Austin, Dell Children's Medical Center. During residency she was recognized with an award for her humanism in medicine as well as her spirit and joy for life.
Dr. Spalla is passionate about newborn and childhood safety as well as preventative medicine. Advocating for children is also a significant part of her practice. Parental education is dear to her heart, and she truly enjoys counseling and reassuring first time parents at newborn visits. Dr. Spalla works hard at communicating effectively with patients of all ages and it is important to her to build a trusting rapport with her teenage patients. She truly feels that she has the greatest job and is blessed to have the opportunity to form relationships with parents while watching her patients grow up.
Away from the office, Dr. Spalla and her husband enjoy spending time with their families, being outdoors and are both are avid college football fans (but unfortunately for rival teams - Hook 'em!).
Dr. Spalla is stellar. She is very personable, very knowledgeable and treats my children like individual and she is very competent. I was very impressed by the way she interacted with my boys. I would recommend her to anyone. – Patient family

My teenage son experienced a very sensitive issue and [...] and Dr. Spalla treated him so kindly and provided a safe space for him to discuss and feel comfortable to talk about what was going on. That speaks volumes! He felt like he was treated with dignity and noted that both of them made him feel like a grown up rather than a child and he really appreciated that. As a mom, I don't ever want my son to outgrow this office. I think everyone here is absolutely wonderful!

Everyone is Dr. Spalla's office is amazing and so efficient. [...], Dr. Spalla's nurse, is incredible. She goes above and beyond to make sure that the best possible care is given to my child. She always sets the tone to be a positive experience. Dr. Spalla is so sweet and down to earth. My son complains about going to a "kid" doctor but every time we leave her office he tells me how much he likes her and that she listens to him. That's a big compliment for a 15 year old!

Nurse [...] is always so kind and attentive. She listens to concerns and helps as she can, she's excellent! Dr. Spalla is incredible, she is attentive, she's also very practical and provides thorough care and information. She saved my son's life with her thorough examination of his neck and by sending us to the ER. Both of my kids have been patients of hers for 5 years now and I can't recommend her enough. She does an excellent job.
