Meet Dr. Diane Shyung

What I love about pediatrics is the ability to build lasting relationships, not only with my patients, but their parents as well. I love becoming part of each patient's family, and building that relationship outside of the office by attending dance recitals and art shows if I am lucky enough to get invited! My focus is to take care of the whole child - there is so much more to health than just the physical aspect. Caring for my patients' emotional and spiritual health is just as important, whether that is listening to a teenager or parent on a hard day or getting to pray with them and remind them that they are loved.

I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve in Central America and Africa on medical mission trips, where I have seen the art of healing so beautifully displayed. These experiences have shaped my passion for working with different cultures, and especially getting to use my Spanish in and out of the clinic to connect with families.

I'm a native of Cleveland, Ohio and will always be a Midwesterner at heart! I relocated to Dallas, Texas in 2016 after completing residency to join my husband Jason, who was born and raised in Carrollton. We are members of Watermark Community Church and involved in multiple ministries in the Dallas area. We have a silly French bulldog named Lucy and recently welcomed our son Elijah to our family. In our free time, we love to travel, spend time with our family and friends, and explore different restaurants.

    I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Shyung. She is always very patient with my doctor-phobic daughter. She is great at meeting her where she's at that day, but still getting to the issues that brought us in without letting my daughter skirt around them. Dr. Shyung is incredibly caring and sincere on top of being a great practitioner. I truly appreciate her.

    We have been going to this clinic for the past 21 years. Through one major move, and one primary care physician's retirement. Among other things. This is going to be likely our last visit, as our youngest child will be 18 in 9 weeks. You and your staff have shown a great deal of concern intelligence with the health of our children, and we will think back on these years fondly.
