Meet Dr. Lauren LaMont
Dr. LaMont, M.D.was raised in New York and did her undergraduate training at Stanford University in California. After being drawn to surgery while working as a research assistant at the University of California- San Francisco, she went on to complete medical school at New York University School of Medicine. She then completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, which is consistently ranked the best orthopaedic hospital and residency programs in the country. Fellowship brought her down to Texas where she completed a pediatric orthopedic and scoliosis fellowship at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas. This experience then led her to join the Cook Children's Orthopedic team in 2015.
Dr. LaMont's interests and specialty training include scoliosis and spine deformity, early onset scoliosis, hip dysplasia, clubfeet, orthopaedic trauma and fracture care and other orthopaedic problems.
Dr. LaMont is an active member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, the Ruth Jackson Society and American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as the Scoliosis Research Society. She is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband Mike and her sons.

Dr. Lamont and her PA are some of the kindest humans I have met. They are always so happy to see [...] and just love on him. They are so caring when it comes to my fears and ease my anxiety when it comes to his feet. They are just so great when many doctors don't have to be and are cold. It's ALWAYS a great experience with them (and their staff) and I can't sing their praises enough.

Halo-Gravity-Traction
At 3 months old Rayden, was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy type 1, which caused spinal scoliosis so severe he had difficulty eating and swallowing or even sitting up straight. Thanks to Halo-Gravity-Traction at Cook Children's, doctors were able straighten his spine. The result? According to his parents, "It's amazing." And seeing all the things Rayden can do now, that's the best word to describe it.
A Rayden, de 3 meses de edad, le diagnosticaron atrofia muscular espinal tipo 1, que le causaba escoliosis espinal tan grave que tenía dificultades para comer y tragar o incluso para sentarse derecho. Gracias a Halo-Gravity-Traction en Cook Children's, los médicos pudieron enderezar su columna. ¿El resultado? Según sus padres, "es asombroso". Y viendo todas las cosas que Rayden puede hacer ahora, esa es la mejor palabra para describirlo.
