Packing the Baby Bag
Babies, especially multiples like twins or triplets, sometimes show up early, a good time to pack the baby bag is around the last week of your 7th month, or the first week of your 8th month. Typically, this is the same time you'll be packing your own bag. The good news is, you don't usually need to pack a lot of items in the baby bag. That said, there are a few things you’ll probably want to include.
Do I need a baby bag?
You certainly don't have to pack a separate bag for your baby, but it really does make it easier if you do. A separate bag saves you from searching for your things or the baby's things. The good news is, for that first trip home, the list is pretty simple.
We've also provided a quick checklist for you to download so you can check off the basics as you gather them.
While this list covers the essentials, there are a few other helpful things you'll want to know about as you prepare for your baby's very first journey ... so read on!
Ready to ride
- Car seat – approved and installed in the car. Yes, we know it’s not really going in the bag, but the best time to do this is while you’re preparing the bag since it will be-top-of-mind. It’s important to note that you’ll need to have the car seat installed before you can leave the hospital with your baby.
