- The relationship with Cook Children's and the Amarillo health care community started over 25 years ago, in the mid-1990s, when specialists from Neurology and Genetics traveled to Amarillo once a month to have clinic in collaboration with local pediatricians. We opened a designated pediatric specialties location in 2014 and in January 2021 added our first full-time neurologist with Rolla Shbarou, M.D.
- Amarillo is 338 miles from our main campus in Fort Worth and is home to the second largest canyon within the state of Texas, Palo Duro Canyon, second only to the Grand Canyon.
- Our clinic currently offers five pediatric specialties: Cardiology, Genetics, Nephrology, Neurology and Pediatric Urology.
- To live up to our Promise, Cook Children's combines the art of caring with the use of leading technology and extraordinary collaboration to provide exceptional care for every child, every day. In addition to our onsite clinics, we offer Cook Children's Virtual Health® with a wide variety of pediatric specialists and work closely with local hospitals to keep our patients close to home whenever possible.
