Clinical pharmacists

Cook Children's pharmacists process thousands of medication orders every day. Our pharmacists manage all medications your child may take during a medical center stay, reviewing each order to check the dose, route, frequency, indication, allergy and interaction accuracy.

Our pharmacy provides medications and information to patients in the medical center, outpatient surgery center, clinics, infusion suites, treatment rooms and procedure areas of the medical center and Dodson Specialty Clinics, as well as many of our medical offices across northeast Texas.

Research pharmacists

If your child is enrolled in a clinical trial at Cook Children's, one of our highly trained pharmacists will manage your child's clinical trial medications to ensure proper administration and that all protocols are followed.

Retail pharmacists

Are available on-site to fill prescriptions in preparation for going home or as needed during specialty clinic visits and are available to answer any questions you have about your child's medications. Our retail pharmacists can also fill other family member prescriptions as an added convenience. The pharmacy also offers over-the-counter medications.
