Asthma
Asthma affects nearly 19 percent of children and is the leading cause of missed school days, accounting for nearly 7.5 million days missed yearly.
Asthma is one of the most common diseases referred to a pulmonologist by primary care doctors. The specialists at Cook Children's offer advanced care for kids with asthma. They also provide education to patients, family members and caregivers.
Asthma treatment
Working with primary care doctors, our pulmonologists provide complete care to kids with asthma, particularly high-risk cases. We also work to educate patients and family members on ways to manage his or her asthma.
